EILO awards

Three categories, three jury awards and a public prize
For the third time in a row, the European Interior Landscaping Organization (EILO) organises the bi-annual EILO Best Interior Landscaping Project Award. All previous events produced great competition from interior landscape designers from all over Europe as well as marvellous winners. Organising awards not only helps to give interior greenery a new podium, it also invites the competitors to do better each time. The EILO Award comes in three categories with the specific aim for smaller projects to participate and have equal opportunities to win.

The competition opens early very early, because the Award Ceremony will take place at the World Green Infrastructure Congress (WGIC) in Berlin on June 20 this year.

EILO invites all long-term interior landscaping installations with natural greenery to participate. This year’s focus is ‘innovation in design and sustainability’. The competition has three categories:
•   Standalone
This category is about Individual pot/plant combinations, small arrangements, ‘green furniture ’ etc.
•   Plant walls
The walls may differ in form and size, can be freestanding or integrated, as long as the project is about a plant wall.
•   Interior Landscaping Projects
Size is not the issue here. It is important though that entries in this category represent a complete interior landscaping project.

For each category there is a chance to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze EILO Best Project of 2017 Award. But, this is not all. Apart from the Gold, Silver and Bronze Jury awards, the public can also vote for a public prize.

The competition is open for all interior landscaping projects, including companies that are not a member of EILO or not situated in Europe. Projects must have been finalised between January 1st 2015 and December 31 2016 and, importantly, the project has to be a 100% live plants, indoor and long term project.

The jury will take the following aspects into account:
•   Scope, realisation, practicability, innovation and value for customer/end user
•   Visual impact, originality, overall design, unity, balance, creativity
•   Construction: quality, finish, special features, dealing with obstacles and the way problems were solved
•   Balance of planting and hard landscaping
•   Design, colour, texture, balance, concept of planting
•   Environmental aspects
•   Positive effects on the indoor environment
